'Christmas pudding' cake pops! I came up with this idea on the tube whilst thinking about what to post today and i was very pleased with myself. I then walked into Waitrose to get the ingredients and stumbled across a 'christmas pudding' cake pop kit. How annoying... great minds think alike?
Ingredients:
for the sponge
170g butter
170g caster sugar
115g self-raising flour
50g cocoa powder
3 large eggs
for the decoration
icing sugar
waitrose 'fruity confetti'
water
1. Preheat the oven to 190c fan/ 170c gas mark 5.
2. Mix the butter and the sugar together until creamy and light.
3. Combine the cocoa powder and the flour (in a different bowl), then add the eggs. Mix the the two substances in the bowls together.
4. Spoon the batter into the cake pop maker so the mixture is evenly spread out. Bake for about 15 mins.
5. Make the water icing by putting some icing sugar into a bowl and adding drops of water making it not too runny but not gloopy either. Dribble this on the top of the cake pops.
6. Finally get your 'fruity confetti' and take 3 red and 2 green. Assemble these on the top of your cake pops (in the shape of a holly leaf) and you're good to go!
The finished result...(I think they turned out pretty good)
I hope you enjoyed reading this.Until the next time!
Silver linings...
